PREFERS A HOME WITHOUT

Cats, children.

MAY 2020: Oscar (a.k.a. Little O, Oscadoosky) was one of 21 small dogs rescued way back in November 2009. The owner had begun with a male and a female (possible littermates) 4 years prior but had never had them fixed. The other 21 dogs came from those first two, and we assumed that most of the dogs were inbred. Sadly, the owner, who'd been hospitalized, passed away a couple days after the dogs were removed from the home and we weren't able to get any information about the dogs. 17 of the 21 dogs were accepted and placed through Save A Dog rescue in Sudbury, MA, over the next year (THANK YOU, SAD!). Oscar is around 14 lbs and is listed as Special Needs because of his lack of socialization- and now because he has no eyes. Both eyes were removed in Feb 2018. No infection was seen, and we have no idea what happened. (It may be a genetic thing, because in Nov 2019, Smokey- a littermate or close relative- also developed the same symptoms in his left eye, and after treatment failed, lost that eye.) Oscar is doing very well, and getting around well. He's available for sponsorship only, because of his age now, and being feral. His most recent bloodwork was perfect, and he's in good condition. (NOTE: The picture of the four dogs- Skip, Newt, Oscar and Smokey from left to right- was taken in May of 2011, as was the close-up.) The one of him with the blue E-collar and the flaps over both eyes was taken 02/03/2017 before his surgery. New picture coming soon, but he's hard to photograph! Please contact FFL at wvcompanions@yahoo.com or call 304 667-1387 and leave a message if you'd like information on becoming a Sponsor.
