HEALTH

Spayed / neutered, special needs. Julius cannot see out of his left eye, and has a cataract or scar on his right, so his vision is limited. He also has problems with his gums and should have canned food only. This big, VERY soft fella has no idea that he has any problems.

GOOD IN A HOME WITH

Other cats.

Julius arrived at Friends for Life July 14th, 2018, after a two-day stay at the vet's. He was sick with an upper respiratory infection but his left eye is also non-working (as you can tell in the pictures)- a congenital condition called micropthalmia. He also has a scar on his right eye that is actually attached to the cornea, something the vet said she'd never seen before. He has limited vision to say the least, but you'd never know it. HOWEVER, he must be kept inside because of his limited vision. A recent exam in January also showed some gum inflammation around his upper fangs. This is unusual in a cat this young. Julius may be the product of related parents, or just unlucky in the genetic department. The other kittens (now young cats) from his litter are all fine. At any rate, he makes himself known! He's very active, loves attention, loves sitting in my lap and swatting the the other cats' tails, loves licking my face, biting at my hair, loves to play.... Because of his gum inflammation, he should have a diet of only canned food. If you give his Special Needs fella a home, he'll give you much more in return.
